BOW Magazine, nr. 25 | Cybersecurity and the challenges in the realm of internationalisation

One of the Portuguese challenges is definitely cybersecurity, which is the main feature of this edition of BOW Magazine. In the words of the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Administrative Modernisation, Mário Campolargo, “as a digital-safe nation, capable of contributing to social and economic well-being, attracting and exporting talent, and promoting a digitally inclusive society for the future, Portugal is presenting us with this challenge. A wide-ranging challenge that demands that all entities, public and private, make cybersecurity in their strategic and organisational culture a fundamental part of their activity, crucial to maintaining financial and reputational value”.

Among others excellent articles in this edition, we recommend also Nelson Escravana’s analysis piece, and the articles written by the Director for Cybersecurity at INOV – The Institute for Systems Engineering and Computers Innovation; Rear-Admiral António Gameiro Marques, director-general of the National Security Office; Joana Lobo, Unit Leader for IT Security at APCER; Luís Manuel Ribeiro, chairman of CESAE Digital, and David de Paula S. Silva, founder and CEO @ CyberX – The Ethical Hacking Services.

The interview for this edition on “Cybersecurity and the challenges in the realm of internationalisation” is with Raul do Vale Martins, Coordinator for the Catalysation of Digital Transition for Portugal, who brings us up-to-date on this subject which is so important for Portuguese companies. We also recommend you check out the infographic with data from the “Cybersecurity in Portugal – Economy” report by the National Cybersecurity Centre, which contains a lot of important information and advice for small and medium sized businesses.

South Africa, Angola, and Nigeria are the three markets we focus on in this edition, as always with the help of figures provided by Accenture.

And in the section dedicated to companies, we bring you Adyta, VisionWare, CyberX and Probely, so that you can learn a bit more about their activities and business.

We trust you’ll enjoy the issue!
